An electronic data processing system stores information regarding theinventory and the present storage location of parts to be inserted into the well, such asdrilling rods, drilling pipes, lining tubing, intermediate parts, drill bits, and the like, withadditional information being saved in the computing system regarding the installationposition and/or installation sequence of all parts inserted into the well so that thecomputing system can indicate to a user when and from where which part shall be fed tothe well hole—supply system and/or to what location which part shall be returned to forstorage when it must be removed from the well, and/or the computing system controlsan automatic storage, supply, and restorage device.
